We are looking for a passionate, caring Support Worker with diverse backgrounds to welcome into our growing team. Our clients represent a diverse range of ages, cultures, personalities, and abilities. Our dedicated Support Workers play a vital role in providing compassionate care, ensuring the well-being of individuals with disabilities. They actively support clients during their daily activities, accompany them to important appointments, and serve as mentors. If you possess a genuine passion for empowering individuals with disabilities and assisting families in their journey towards the well-being and independence of their loved ones, we warmly encourage you to submit your application.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Listen to and create opportunities and activities that meet the interests and goals of our clients.
  • Encourage shared learning experiences, and support skill development at every opportunity through self-directed learning, information, and education.
  • Ensure that individual support is provided to a person that accesses Hope Minded Care services.
  • Be ‘hands on’ and involved in direct service delivery.
  • Assisting clients with personal care.
  • Providing domestic assistance: cooking, household cleaning, laundry etc
  • Social Support: Grocery shopping, socialising
  • Transport to access community and medical appointments.

We value lived experience and believe peer support is a powerful part of the mental health recovery journey. Therefore, our Peer Worker roles are for those willing to use their lived experience and personal recovery to mentor people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.

What we offer:

24/7 rotating roster including weekend, evening, and night shifts.

Attractive hourly rates from $32-$35 an hour + Super + Casual Loading!

Online training with NGO Training for specific disabilities that issues completed certificates after each course.

What you can offer:

Preferred to hold relevant Certificates in Individual Support or Disability and at least 12-months relevant experience OR 2-years full-time experience working in mental health.

Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.

NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card, current First Aid and CPR, a valid Driver’s Dicense, with reliable car & comprehensive car insurance.

Willingness to be flexible and understanding of the uniqueness of the industry and its needs.

Clear spoken & professional communication skills both verbal and written to support your clients.
Willingness to work from other locations around Brisbane.

COVID-19 considerations:

All Support workers will comply with current COVID-19 rules and updates. You are required to hold the double dose vaccinations – COVID-19 Certificate in the disability sector as per QLD Health directives.
